Alongside the leadership, the church members have a role in leading the church. This is because every Christian is responsible for teaching his or her fellow believers about Jesus. Helping each other to see Jesus more clearly is what the church is all about.
We hope that all sorts of people from different backgrounds, ages and beliefs will want to become part of our community. Anyone is really welcome at our meetings and to take a full part in the life of the community.
By church members we mean something slightly different to those who come along to BroadGrace on a Sunday or are part of our community. The Bible sees the members of a church as those Christians who see that particular church as being as important to them as their family. So to be a member of BroadGrace you need to be a follower of Jesus and you need to be able to commit to treating BroadGrace as your family. This means taking responsibility with the other members for leading the church, putting the needs and interests of the others before your own, loving even the members you find hard to love or like, bearing the financial needs of the church and serving as you have been equipped to do so by the Holy Spirit.
If you would like to know more about becoming a member, then have a chat with one of the leadership team.
If you don't feel ready to consider this yet, then don't feel like you are somehow excluded. The point of membership is to make sure the church is a loving community that will welcome everyone and seek to share the love and joy and hope of Jesus with all. Not being a member will not make any difference to how much we want to welcome you, serve you and include you in our meetings or other activities.
