We began 2012 by looking at three problems that we face as a church:

  1. We do not love one another as family, pursuing each other in love for the cause of Christ as we could.
  2. We do not love our neighbours and give ourselves to proclaim the gospel of Jesus as we could.
  3. We do not pray with desperate dependence to our Father as we could.

These are all areas where we have seen Jesus change us and help us. They are also areas where we are missing out on what we could be and what we could enjoy. We began the five-week series of talks and discussions together looking at the character of our God. Jesus is not a God who makes hard demands of us, far less a taskmaster. He is a generous giver! So we wanted to see how he would give us these things to enjoy, not how we needed to work at them.

If you want to get a feel for where we are and where we think the Lord is taking us, then these five talks would be a good place to start:

  1. The problems and the solution
  2. The never-ending, never giving up, always and forever love of God
  3. Love one another
  4. Love your neighbour
  5. Be-loved
